No, I did line haul but being a new guy with low seniority I was basically a dock worker...

I don't blame you for getting outta there. Chicago, right? I heard they have way too many terminals up there. It's all screwed up.

Yep. The acquisition was just finalized a few months ago. No real changes have hit CW yet, but drivers are worried about it.

Of all the good trucking companies out there I'd hate to think I only had Prime or XPO to choose from.

The same ones I listed before; Freymiller, Abilene Motor Express, Magnum Ltd.

You have 15 mos. experience so there's lots out there. What about Holland Enterprises Inc.? Their average length of haul is 1600 miles and the trucks are set up right for the driver with apu, refrigerator, tv, etc.

My husband was just offered a driving job with XPO/ConWay. New applicants are told they must do at least 1 year OTR before they can drive in any other company division. Recruiter stated they wanted drivers who are serious about staying with the company. PLUS, even though he has several years experience, he still has to ride with a trainer at least 25000 miles before he can be on his own. He was told it didn't matter if someone has 20 or 30 years experience (he has 13), that is the standard across the board.

I would say one hand washes the other. I think every driver wants to stay with a company. The question is...will the company do enough to afford them that desire? Best of luck to your husband.

Conway/xpo truckload miles have decreased since the takeover. It's funny how they want drivers to stay but we still have no idea if we are going to be sold again. They offered us 1k each to stay until April. Why April I ask myself. Maybe something will be determined by April.

They stopped the stupid fuel opps program completely. Now you don't even get a toaster.
