i have not applied for any driving jobs other than prime and cr england. after what i have read about england, i dont want to work for them. driving was not my first career choice, i being a 3rd generation driver if i choose to be one, have seen the ups and downs of the profession and didnt want to go that route but with the economy the way it is, this is the route i choose.i dont have high standards i just want a company that treats me fairly and will pay a fair wage in exchange for me being on the road for 3-6 weeks at a time. as i stated, i applied at least the minium of 2 jobs per week, which isnt always easy with so few places hiring. as far as my high standards so u call it, i dont know how anyone could live on $8 per hour, much less with a family to support.
prime requires you to be "gainfully employed" for 30 out of the last 36 months

The thing is you can work part time and still collect UE The UE check will be smaller but part time work is a good way to network your way into a full time job.Think of your UE as a bank account with a set amount of dollars in it,the less you use it the longer it will last.I know several people who got fulltime jobs because they were willing to take the part time job first.
All 3 of my son's took on call substitute custodian jobs in our school district,2 of them now have good full time gigs directly as a result of this position.
My point is you can't be out of work for 2 years and expect employers to be wanting to hire you -
Congrats you get to start at the bottom, and start all over again. Hopefully you have learned the lesson that a public college should have taught you.
This stuff is just common sense. You played, and now its time to pay. -

I've done a variety of different temp jobs over the years to fill in when regular employment was elusive. I didn't care what they were, some were good, but with temp work, it can end. I took what they offered me. I have even worked in the airline meal catering field, nasty, on your feet, on an assembly line....for $6.75 an hour! But I worked most of my adult life without collecting unemployment, only when working construction in a reduction of force, once for a month, the other time three weeks. In the deep south, it's called "the pennies" because it's so little.
So to me, work is work, easier to get a job when you have one. I understand the pride you have to swallow to work menial jobs, but when you bring a good attitude, do your best, don't need extra supervision, you'd be suprised how far you can even go there. I'm not dissing anyone by this, we all have our own ways when it comes to work. I'm just too afraid of being homeless so I'm compelled to do something! -

It's not that they require you to be employed for 30 months of the last 36. It's that they require you to account for what you did in the last 36 months (3 years). there was three months I was un-employed and they still took me. I just noted the dates I was un-employed. But then again I was un-employed that time by choice.
