Honestly, the challenges have been so few and far between. I cant tell you the last time I was worried. I plan ahead... and I guess my FM and sales does too.

Your original post suggests that all wal-marts want the reefers on all the time. This is not true. When you go to Wal-Mart and agree to their rules, you should know what they are. The rules are clearly posted, and it's your job to know them and follow them. Also, I have NEVER been told by a Wal-Mart that I have to keep my reefer running. In fact, I seem to get unloaded extra fast by Wal-Mart when I follow the rules and turn it off.

I delivered to the DC in Casa Grande AZ last month... 112 degrees. They wanted the reefer left on, even though it would make things warmer.

Thank you, Pony. It is really annoying to be addressed as if I was some wet-behind-the ears rookie. The original mention of WalMarts was simply by way of example of the places that do want you to keep it on, not a statement about all WalMarts. There are a few WalMart DCs that do NOT have their heads up their backsides.
See you out on the road! Getting the truck this afternoon and a load out tomorrow.

Thanks guys. Got the truck, got my stuff in it, now comes the waiting for the load. Should get out this afternoon, and apparently will be doing quite a bit of west. My FM is being moved to SLC September 1, so I will be dispatched out of there. Oh joy - but at least it's not the northeast where I have spent most of the last three years! See y'all out on the road.
I guess we need to start retraining our brains for e-logs. (Bringing the topic back on track from the open reefer doors discussion...) I think the lease side of Prime though is still more than a year off... at least I hope so! Want to make some money first! :biggrin_25515:

Best of Luck to ya kingsson. Just remember to shut off that reefer with the doors open :-D (bringing the topic back for no other reason than I can :p).

I am parked in Hesperia waiting to deliver in Ontario, CA tomorrow... and will be sure to turn off the reefer once I get the doors open!
