I don't know any of our tanker yankers who post here... probably too busy.
Its the same deal on the company side across all three divisions - check out any of the threads that deal with it in this folder.
Training time may vary - to the longer end, especially this time of year due to weather, holidays, trainer home time. You'd need to talk to the recruiters - but I'd especially recommend finding one of our tanker drivers - to find out how the home time deal works in their division.
Ummm... you need to have your bride on board in this, no matter where you go. OTR driving is exactly that... Over The Road. Don't kid yourself about this. As an inexperienced driver, you're going to end up "paying your dues" somewhere... most of us just don't walk into a dream job that somehow gets us home every week no matter what.trackdog Thanks this. -
had any problems with prime

No, but everyone's experience is different. There are folks who don't like Prime in the least - but you can find that anywhere.

I don't know much about their training if you're a newby to trucking, but they do have a tanker bootcamp that is 1 week long in Joliet, IL to make sure that you know how to operate and fix the pump if necessary, venting whille loading and unloading, spill control, as well as proper procedures for keeping loads heated and steamed.
I am lease, so not sure how they pay company drivers.
Sometimes you will get home every week, sometimes it could be 3 or 4 weeks. Sorry to burst your bubble, but as IP said, it is "OVER-THE-ROAD". So whatever any recruiter from whatever company says their are no gaurantees on the road. -
Most of primes tanker loads run in NJ, IL, GA and points in between. That woould account for about 80 percent of our loads. hope that helps.

thanks for all your info. I just didnt want to be otr 3 weeks at a time. All the time its ok every now and again. So how is prime?

The home every week part will depend on where you live. If there is a large account in the area, they should be able to do it. I seem to remember another tanker driver from Chesapeake saying that he was able to get home every week as well.

thanks i needed that . yeah im from chesapeake.

I'm from Richmond, and I do know that I've seen tankers delivering in Richmond. I'd ask how they would get you home every week. I'm don't know too much about the tanker side. I do know that one of my former trainees went tanker, and seems to like it.
