Been running hard this past week. Finally got to use my Twic card down at the docks in southern Jersey. Gotta love them Union Dock Boys. If your heading that way bring cash and a Safety vest with you or you will be buying one to get in.

That goes for every port I have ever been into. Nearly all the ports have a gate fee also...

Relay would be a term you might be more familiar with. For whatever reason - usually not enough available driving hours or a breakdown - one driver or team gives a load to another driver or team to get the freight to the receiver on time.

    Carabello720 Thanks this.

Wilmington DE didn't have one. Its usually $10 or $20 - you should have some cash in your pocket to deal with cash tolls, weight tickets, etc all the time anyway. I always put $100 on my card every week just to deal with that kind of crud.

I don't know about FB drivers, but reefer guys better keep some cash on them... Countless number of cash only scales out there that will save you time and hassles. Some of them are automated so have a good mix of ones and fives.

I can think of half a dozen places we pickup apples in the Chelan area of WA where you can go to a totally seperate packing house and scale... Cash only... No ATM for miles. Potato places too...like in American Falls, ID

Kraft in New Ulmn, MN... Whether its a live load or pickup from the drop yard, your best bet in daylight hours is a scale at a construction company. Plenty of ATM options as its on the main drag.

Emton could jog my memory where exactly we used a scale at a grain elevator on a load we picked up one time.

These are all places where you would have to go 30 or more miles one way to find your standard truck stop scale. Imagine that drive back after you discover you are overweight.
