Still cranking out the miles and getting home on a regular basis. Had a slow start to this week and was getting worried but my FM pulled some magic out of her hat and had me another 2 good runs and I will finish another week with 29+.
Can honestly say the only thing I don't like about running the North East Region is having to deliver the Walmart loads out of the Lewiston DC to the stores in Boston. That city is no place to be pulling a 53 foot trailer and they (Prime) is setting there drivers and themselves up for accidents.
The maintenance guys at Walmart who I am becoming to know pretty well say that at least 4 of the Prime powered Walmart trailers are coming in each week with sides tore up, wheels blown and rims destroyed. I don't have a count on the Prime trailers but have seen quite a few with doors that won't close and sides tore up and had one that had a huge hole in the top corner where someone hit a bridge or something and didn't even report it. I ended up dragging that one into Pittston to be repaired.
The Walmart Loads Blow and the only runs we get out of there is the ones that their drivers don't want.
Other then that the North East so far, is the place for me. -

Been to Lewiston, it is a PITA.
Thanks... Cant imagine who done stole um... -
Its what you can expect doing local p & d - tear-azzin' around, almost always late, fighting traffic.

I delivered to a WM store, it sucked. Picked it up at the WM DC we have the dispatchers at.

The receivers at the stores are usually great. They get you outta there in 15 mins or so. It's like IP said, fighting traffic, finding the #### stores, and the worst thing of all is trying to manuver the 53 ft trailers through a city built in the 18th century and not designed for 53 footers. The local guys are pulling there 20ft pups around and screaming at us. PRIME WHAT THE FUDGE ARE YOU DOING IN HERE WITH THAT TRAILER. So far I've been lucky and haven't had any incidents. But I know it's only a matter of time. I feel real sorry for the lease operators that they send out with them and even more sorry for the newbies that come rolling back into Lewiston with their fenders, steps or cab extenders all crunched up on there brand new trucks.

ouch now that sucks

Another two days running Walmart garbage store to store. Thank goodness she got me outta there with a one way today. Hopeing I won't see Lewiston for a couple weeks.
