If you have a cdl you wont be doing psd you'll be doing tnt. Psd is for those needing a cdl. Pack light as possible. Sleeping bag, pillow, weeks worth of clothing and personal necessities. Anything else like work gloves etc are available at the company store.

    twk88 Thanks this.

Go back to this thread, and read it...

Ignore the part about getting a permit, and you'll have pretty much what you're going to be doing in orientation. The packet of forms you'll get at the front desk of the Campus Inn will be for an inexperienced CDL holder, and any differences in the process will be included in your agenda. Don't be blindly following what the PSD students do. It's been some time since I went through the process, but I'll bet you have simulator work to do. When you get your ID/fuel card you will be an employee, and instead of being assigned to an instructor on Friday, you'll be going out with a TnT trainer.

Make sure you get your Fleet Manager's phone number, and do give him a call at least once a week after you get on the road to let him know how things are going from your perspective. Make sure you visit the company store to see what's in there, and to get any unique items that you'll be needing. If you forget some general things, there's a Walmart Superstore in easy walking distance from the Campus Inn... like shower clogs. In case no one has mentioned this, you cannot drink any alcohol at all during training. Absolutely do not be late for anything! If you say you're going to be somewhere, 5 minutes early is late. Turn the cell phone off! Do not let it ring, and do not answer it during any class, meeting or interaction with anyone who can affect your career!!!

BTW... did I mention shower clogs? Wear them unless you have a hankerin' for a case of terminal athlete's foot!

I went through NTI to get my A, I had a B for 15 years before that. The instructors at NTI were awesome ( mike, Jim and Deana ) they had a lot of experience and really helped me out. I got my A on Jan.28 and got invited to primes orientation on march 4. The have been good to deal with so far. My recruiter is Joan and she is nice and very polite to deal with. Some of the guys I went to school with got the run around from some of the other companies. One of em waited till a few days before he was headed out and said Oh, we made a typo, you actually have to be 22 to work for us, so he is back to square one. I have no complaints so far. Prime definetly pays the most during training of all the companies I looked at. I have also heard good things about their training from peeps that went through it. I tend to be skeptical of the people badmouthing them because it makes no sense for them to invest a bunch of money in you just to "screw you over" and send you home.
