i know a company that put them in the company trucks to try out, the drivers got together and cut the camera's cord and they took them and put them on the operations managers desk. Nothing was ever said about putting them back in the trucks.

My liberties? I am at liberty to choose to work for a company. If I choose against it, I am at liberty to leave. This isn't some government issue, it is a private company which is at liberty to invest in technologies to protect its assets, both personnel and materiel.

As it happens, externals have been confirmed by Don Lacy, internals refuted. Having an added layer of protection suits me fine. I am actually saving a file off my camera now to dispute a citation my student received last night.

Cameras are a good thing. Paranoia, not so much.

Oh well they got to screw the drivers somehow to pay for that big expensive terminal. :biggrin_25517: Geez get over the FANCY TERMINAL lots of trucking companies have nice buildings , its called an investment in assets and likely has been paid off for sometime now .

They're coming. At least one test truck already. They had the vendor rep in today to explain and passed out a front and back FAQ page.

records 20 sec loop. Only saves with a critical type event, hard braking, roll alert, excessive speed... OR if the driver hits a button. Like witnessing an accident or hit while parked.

has a in cab facing camera. No plans to activate that option at this time.

recorded events are not sent to Prime unless the vendor analyzes and determines an accident occurred or unsafe driving was observed.

If the cab cam is decided to be actives. no one can activate the in cab camera remotely. Only a critical event or driver activation will save the footage.

10 sec record before incident or driver activation, 10 sec after.

they could not be more clearer that in cab cannot be remotely activated.

driver installed cams have already reversed a few accident verdicts, and tickets... So Prime thinks this is a good direction

I'd imagine this captures audio too? So all the times I sing along to Taylor Swift and swear about nighttime dispatch can be used against me at some point. :mlaugh:

I would be more worried about the recent huge lawsuit Prime lost about telling lies about their drivers and flooding their DAC reports with lies and false information than I would be about a camera in the truck. If you ever want another job besides Prime you had better hire a lawyer when you quit to make sure Prime doesn't blackball you from the industry like the lawsuit they just lost when from doing just that.
