I just wanted to give a little warning for those who drive the 2011 Freightliner Cascadia Lightweight.....make sure you keep an eye on your wheel seal and hub caps!! Today as I was doing my normal walk around while fueling, I noticed my left rear drive was severly leaking. It was so bad that the tire itself was covered. In addition, I also noticed both of the steers are leaking as well. This was something that must of occured between my pre-trip and when I noticed it, because the problem was not present when I conducted the pre-trip.

I just thought I pass the word....ya'll be safe out there.

Its more than just a Lightweight truck issue. They have been talking
about this problem for a few months on the Safety CDs, on-hold messaging.

Each truck has been flagged to be checked at its next PM. Word should have come down from you RA manager to keep on eye on those seals.

My 08 Century has had the same problem. I've had the same drive wheel leak twice in the last year. Luckily, each time I've caught it early enough and it was a quick 15 minute repair. But like your leak, mine was substantial. Enough to not only cover the rim and the tire, but it was actually pooling in the rim as I was looking at it! :biggrin_25524:
