Ip why waste the time? These guys that bash a lease deal are the same guys you here at a Iron skillet telling the "I told dot to #### off"
it's a waste of time, no matter what you say, these guys are always right...in there minds anyway.
If people want to lease purchase then good for them, and if they can make it work and be happy then that's all that counts. Nomatter how many times this is said these loser super truckers have to throw in there worthless penny. I have a friend that has completed and owns a 2011 Pete from leasing at prime and he does well. And he's happy.

    Ironpony...
Of course if that were so, I certainly wouldn't let you buy me a coffee, if I owed you lunch friend, let's just say I'm a doubting Thomas for a very good reasons and that's only based on" track record " mind you, not that I'm sold out or anything, this has nothing personal to do with you at all... I am the first one to encourage anyone's success just as I am the first one to stand in the way wickedness 😎🏁🏁🏁

Well doubt away! That's your problem, not mine. I'm here to tell you this ain't rocket science (I've done that,) its making money with a big truck. It ain't all that hard, in fact its downright easy, but there's a lot more to it than just slamming the doors and going down the road. This isn't for everyone, but it is one way to get your own truck... and make more money than the company guys do. Just so you know, I'm looking to get my authority later this year... once the note on the tractor is retired. And yeah, that's all from pullin' a wagon around that says "Prime Inc." on the side. It can be done.

No I really can't. I knew I was making a decent post when I started it but I never thought it would be going several years later.

Good deal brother,I'll just leave it at that, you seem to be happy with what you are doing so that's all that really matters.... As for me I make the $, the $ doesn't make me, my success is parking this truck at the end of everyday, going home, slapping my beautiful wife on the behind, seeing what she's cooking, hearing her complain about my stinky feet, seeing which if any my children need correction if needed, jump in shower, eat dinner, pretend to watch a good movie with wife, while secretly planning on which Lake to launch bass boat, (depending on the season) or which tree stands will be hot bow hunting, get family to church Sunday morning.... Monday morning start truck do the superflow all over again, this kind of lifestyle is not for everyone I realize & I'm just a company driver my pay checks not nearly as big as yours, but we are both successful in life, just different goals.... The thing I hate the most about lease deals are when I hear how it destroys someone's dream & hurts them and their families financially, I know I can't do a darn thing about it.... " Success is hitting the mark" I never wanted to be an O/O, I have lots of friends who are, I have label this "hairy cannarrie trucking" sure they are doing OK, they sometimes brag, they like the rush of it I guess but basically they have alot of $ going thru their hands and alot of head ackes also, you gotta have atleast 10k in the bank to back you up always.... OK thanks for reading my rants, I truly wish you the best
Brother ironpony... "get em son" 😎👍🏁🏁🏁

So why is it when the company guys decide to tear down the way someone else lives... its so we who choose to live our lives differently have to be just like them? I can't possibly imagine being a wage-slave again in my life. Why is it that doing something that gives me a lot of satisfaction- running my own business, is such a "headache" as to be avoided? If I do this well (and I do) the reward is both intangible and monetary. I don't live from paycheck to paycheck any longer, I have money in the bank, and I enjoy life. I have no desire to be you.

I applaud IP for taking the time to go toe to toe with certain types when it comes to debating things they have no experience with.

I wouldn't bother doing it because in the end it's not going to change minds which have already been made.

Prime's lease deal doesn't seem too bad when compared to what some other companies put on the table. Looks like it would be nice to not be chasing miles each week. Still doesn't change the fact that someone who wants to take a go at it needs to have their head screwed on straight.

When I drove OTR my trainer was a lease/op who had to chase miles. Boy howdy, did he chase miles at .87cpm+FSC. Amazed me that he'd lasted as long leasing as he had (likely because he was training...). The guy had zero business sense... spent his money like a drunken sailor in Thailand, and was telling me that he was somewhere in the neighborhood of $10,000 behind on his taxes. Saw him take a bunch of pay advances and I think one week his settlement was close to nil.

Pretty much the poster child of someone who should not have been leasing... The type of driver who IP tries hard to dissuade from even thinking about putting pen to the dotted line of a lease contract...

    Ironpony????
I guess you don't recognize encouragement, how about this: "way to go" "thatta boy" "keep on trucking" "git error done" ..... Dang man, now do you get it? .... I'm happy, you're happy everyone's a winner, like you said " lease deals" are not for everyone, you should be proud of yourself because alot of drivers have been sucked in & then burnt on lease deals, right?.... But not you so you that's a good thing, have at it brother, it's all yours and it doesn't matter much to anyone else
....no big deal bro, you paid a truck off, I paid a house off, it's just two different lifestyles that's all, just trying to encourage you 😎🏁🏁

.... I'm glad for ironpony, everyone is different I wouldn't consider myself a certain type or anything like that, there are only three categories of drivers : those who live in a truck & those who live in a house
And those who are in between.... It all depends on what the driver wants to do, that's the beauty of it
....yeah there's " no way" I would ever want to lease a truck from prime or any other OTR outfit, but it works for guys like ironpony...... No biggie 😎👍
