FMCSA has approved providers for that training in case you need to do it,you might not need to go to a school, that all depends on the NC license requirements.

I lived in Anchorage for awhile then moved to Palmer. Went to the Northern industrial PTDI school (professional truck drivers institute) in Palmer! Go back every 2 years or so and plan to move back eventually.

I was up there last year driving for Black Gold, hauling the gold ore.
I worked with some guys that went to Northern Industrial,my son went through that school also. -
Thanks Chinatown. To the OP, you will not beed the ELDT to get your CDL back. You will need to take all yhe knowledge exams, complete the threat assessment/fingerprints for the hazmat then take the skills and road test again.
As for renting a truck, that is getting harder to do. Check with some of the CDL in a day type schools, they may work with you. Also, try finding a third party exam location as they will often have a truck and trailer available for rent when you take your test there.Chinatown Thanks this. -
I don’t know if they’re considered one of the “CDL in a day” outfits, but this is who I used 25 years ago.
After 5 trips out the guy said I was ready for the test, much to my surprise at the time.
