Hi, I bought a truck/trailer to move my stuff to another state. I got a CDL and insurance and inspection sticker for the truck windshield.
Do I need to put "Not for Hire" on the door?
Thanks

If you search the threads a little there was a whole thread with
about 10 pages about this very subject.
I'm sure they have allready disscussed this till it's dead and they probaly posted
some regs concerning it.Cybergal Thanks this. -

Thank you Coonass.
I read that thread before posting.
There were two posts that got my attention, the second was from a trooper.
1.
No markings.... plan on lots of time spent in scales explaining why there are no markings on the truck. It may actually help to put some "private use vehicle/not for hire" markings on the truck.
2. (the cop)
When I see the "private not for hire" it just draws me to them like a moth to a light.
So, are you saying I should deduce from that thread that an unmarked truck and trailer is best? -
Maybe a little info on what highways you will be hauling on will help us advise you . Some states are tougher than others . I would put the private vehicle , not for hire sign on though . It will avoid more than it attracts .

I from LA, you won't be hitting any scales going North into AR. I would
put the "private not for hire" on the truck and as long as you got ins. and
other paperwork not worry about it. -
I know there are no scales, I just want to do everything right.
My question was, and is, What is the Law? Am I required to put "Not for Hire" on the truck door?
