Low oil press. shut/off is working to save eng. from damage, ck. if you have fuel in oil?
Bandaid Thanks this. -
My last prostar with the Cummins liked oil filters. The back pressure from the DPF would cause soot to get in the oil. At 20 lbs. it would shut down.
My company would change oil at 30,000 miles, it took 2 new oil filters between oil changes to keep the pressure up.
if it's the same problem I had, I'd change the oil at 15 to 18,000 milesJoe m Wipf Thanks this. -
Change the oil filter see if that helps any.Happened to me and after the change it went right up.If not you have other issues you need to get looked at but a filter change is a cheap fix if it works.

What year truck was it mine is a 2011

Mine was a 2010, with fresh oil and a filter, it'd hold 40~45 pounds, at about 18,000 miles the pressure would be around 30, it'd drop to 20 quick and it was time to get a new filter.Joe m Wipf Thanks this.
