I am having some trouble with the truck I bought. It a 2009 Peterbilt 386 with a ISX 485 cm871. I reset the trip today when I got fuel and noticed that the time on the dash was wrong so I changed it and later on today I noticed that my miles on my trip were about 400 miles off to much. So could this be a problem with the ECM? Along with many other problems I think I have. Thanks for your help in advance
Problem with ECM? New to the electronic motor.

In the process of setting the time, are you sure you didn't accidentally change your trip from miles to kilometers?
Is that a possibility?baha Thanks this. -
Anything is possible but I'm really sure I didn't change it from miles to kilometers. Now that I have been thinking one time last week that driver display where you can see your mpg's the time all that stuff not sure the actual name of that but anyways it just quit working I could see anything on it but if I set the cruise the speed would come up and display. I got home and the truck sat for 2 days and now it is back working. Maybe I have a short or a bad ground maybe?

If it accidentally got switched to kilometers, then it should be easy to confirm. It will display km after the number on your trip meter.
You said it was off by about "400", but you didn't say the actual miles you drove (what should have been displayed).
That would also help confirm if it was reading in kilometers. -
It should have been around 260-280 and it was reading like 680 or something. I just reset it this morning and wrote down the mileage and will check it when I get home. I looked and it has the lil "mi" behind the number on my trip.

OK, well that wasn't it. If you went say 270 miles, your trip would show 435 in km.
It would take about 650 miles to show +400 in km.
650 mi = 1046 kilometers.poke Thanks this. -
Thanks. I'm still wondering if the ECM could be going bad? The truck is getting terrible fuel mileage I don't know if that could even make a difference. Like I said I am new to all the sensors and all that. I've been running a 3406B for a long time now this isx it's just like starting all over again

Now that you mention such poor mileage, it may help in addressing possible issues with that.
Quite an interesting thread which focuses on the emissions, poor mileage, etc, etc.
He also has some great videos showing CM871 troubleshooting on YouTube. If you can't find them, lemme know, and I'll try looking them up for ya.

Yes sir I am aware and have been reading everything rawze has posted. I'm in the process of the egr tune up so hopefully it will get better because at this point I'm wishing I would have kept my old truck
