problem with naxa tv

I am assuming the TV is a 12 volt?
And the 400w inverter plugs in to a cig lighter?


If YES to both questions, the answer is easy.

1. If the TV shuts down when the truck is not running, it could be because the TV will shut-down IF the battery voltage drops below a certain point
2. If your inverter blows the fuse when you start, it is for the same reason. Battery voltage drops while engine is off, then starting the truck causes a spike in the voltage at the plug.

Try a larger inverter that connects directly to the batteries or use a larger fuse (double wattage) in the inverter plug.You might also check the truck's batteries and replace them if they are older than 1 year.

 

I bought that 400 watt Cobra inverter. That lighter plug cord with the fuse in it is pure garbage. The wires in it aren't thick enough to run anything more than a cell phone charger. I had a thicker cord from my old inverter and it works much better.
