I've never had trouble with truck stop washers. I also don't have my nicest cloths in the truck. Many ta/petro have um and some flying j/piliot have laundry. I just use a laundry back because plastic bins take up to much room in truck. As for showering, middle of the day has the least lines.

One other "rule" for trucker hygiene that we think shouldn't have to be mentioned...
Avoid using the window wash buckets for washing your hair and face.
Yep, saw a guy vigorously washing his face, hair, and armpits in the fuel island next to me right out of the bucket last summer. Not only are there chemicals in there you don't want on your body, the number of dead insects in that bucket was an entomologist's dream... -
I wore cheap flip flops into showers so as to not pick-up a fungus. 9 years ago I was able to find powdered detergent in tablet form for laundry but that may not be possible now.

TequilaSunrise Thanks this.

About three years ago I started using nothing but baking soda for laundry detergent and also avoid using fabric softeners. This got rid of issues with itching and allergies to the chemicals. I use a small plastic jar to hold it, dumping the contents of the box I buy in the store into the plastic jar. It costs far less than commercial laundry detergent and also happens to be an ingredient in many of them. It is a natural deodorizer.
Dan.S and Criminey Jade Thank this. -

I also love the 3 in 1 sheets. Unfortunately they seem to have been discontinued. If anyone knows where to get them, I'm interested.

Great tips. Thank you!
