I use a mil-spec nylon flight engineers bag (see also parachute bag; get the real one. Not a knockoff; about $30/ea) and keep a sturdy plastic bag inside with laundry pods and spray pre-wash.
Plus a small zip purse with $30/qtrs. Never run out of supplies.
That bag takes up little room (actually I have over a dozen of them to move into and out of truck #### near everything I carry) and I can stuff it wherever.
I’ve converted my wardrobe to all artificial. Or poly cotton ripstop. Lightweight, and tough. These are work tools.
Carry seven complete changes of clothes. Do laundry once weekly. Wash whatever got used.
Treat clothes and turn inside out. Wash cold and maybe 12’ on coolest dryer setting. Very fast.
24’ wash, 15’ later I’m dried, packed, and off to dinner. Everyone else an hour behind me.
I buy KEEN brand composite toe work shoes. And kick them off when driving for their sandals. Both can be washed. Look brand new.
Laundry takes no time. Hang on hangers and underwear/socks go in dedicated zip-top wide-mouth tool bag. Fairly small, as non-cotton takes up no room.
Clothing conversion cost wasn’t cheap, but would anyone want to dress like a truck driver? (And I come out of oilfield). My son kids me about my changes of uniform. True. But it sure works. Hot weather or cold. Got some base layer that’s great for cold. (5.11, on Amazon).
Same for bedclothes. Washes just as easy.
Saw MR SHOW TRUCK climb out one day and pop the hood so’s he could wipe down his clean truck.
You know, lowrider and gearshift at ceiling. Toys R Us paint job. 8” stacks.
Dressed like a bum. Jeans T-shirt and tattoos. Told him the owner would appreciate his diligence. Said to me he was owner. Said to him, “No. You’re not”.
Laundry and showering. Find a plan. Improve it. Get proper tools. Plan it. Buy as you can. Job comes first.
I don’t get to shower daily, but clean quality clothing and some pride in appearance always help with any other people dealt with during the day. New customer, LEO, or new boss. Always works.
Should I tell you how often the fuel desk gives me a shower key ahead of a slob headed to Mcdonalds to wait? I’ve never asked. I don’t take long either (I usually get up extra early, like 0300. No lines. But can’t always).
Looking like a slob is some liberal retard thing. 1970s hippies is how it started.
Falling out of “show truck” like a clown is par for today’s.
