Progressive Insurance quote new authority. Does this sound right?

Insurance companies exist to develop real estate and sponsor golf tournaments, not to actually pay claims.

 

Where you live geographically is huge as well.

New policy for me in Arizona would be $12K. In Indiana it would be $7K.

Scotty, yes it cost me quite a bit out of pocket. I wouldn't roll over and settle, and while it ended up costing me much more in the end, it was the principal of the situation. I had a million liability on my auto policy and a million personal umbrella. Both of the insurance policies ended up paying out to the policy limits, and it cost me personally nearly as much as the insurance paid out in legal fees and the eventual payout to the plaintiffs. I did wind up suing a local newspaper for defamation because they published my daughter's name (a juvenile at that time) after the accident and stated that the accident was her fault. They basically told me to F off, and it wound up costing them nearly a million to litigate my case and we got a tidy sum for a settlement and a retraction printed in the paper.

 

PS, personal umbrella policies don't help if you are trying to cover liability issues for your trucking company.
