It bugs me every election year when people start asking the politicians what THEY intend to do to make sure manufacturing jobs stay in America. That isn't the politician's job. Corporations work in the real world, where the basic rules of economics push the majority of business decisions. Supply & Demand. If there is a demand for American Made products, corporations will make products in America. If there is a demand for CHEAP China-made crap, corporations will manufacture cheap crap in China.

So rather than asking the politician what HE/SHE is going to do, what are YOU going to do? You can be part of the problem and continue demanding cheap China-made crap, or you can be part of the SOLUTION by creating a demand for American Made products.

Take tires for example: I inspect each and every tire I buy, and it had better say "Made in USA" somewhere on it. If not, I'm not buying it.

Exactly. If someone takes the time and shop, they'll find these big names are quite higher. There are plenty companies that offer equivalent or better coverage cheaper without a multimillion advertising budget that the policy holders pay for.

I just got progessive. When I first started they only wrote 500 mile radius
So I went with brookwood and canal written by striclin in Ga.(awful underwriters) . Canal is a PITA to deal with no claims or losses they was going to up mine to 6,000 a year plus finance charge. Got same coverage for
3903.00 paid in full for year. To top it off with canal they was always dragging on doing my filings, progressive had them done in less than two days.
I am very pleased so far and NO MONTHLY payment for a change.
I saved over 2,000 this year. Canal was the micky mouseyest company I ever dealt with. They initally wouldn't even allow my wife to ride along.

Did you read my experience with GW??? They are no longer for the single O/O, and only have an interest in keeping the fleets. When their adjuster told me that it was too much bother for him to go to small claims, and that they were paying the bill and we didn't really have any say in it, that was it for me. We had video that showed exactly what happened, and proved the guy was speeding through the lot. The adjuster never could view that video.

Now if you have a company that will just pay a claim, and it goes on your loss claims, which in turn raises your rates, would you trust them to handle a bigger claim with any better service?

Not just no, but HELL NO!!! In fact, if I had proof of what happened and my insurance company was just being too ###### lazy to go after the guilty party, I don't care if I had to go into the office, duct tape the adjuster to his chair, pin his eyes open and FORCE him to look at the evidence I had, he would view it....and I'd make it VERY clear that if it went against my loss claims or if my premiums rise as a result of his failure to do HIS job, I'd be back and he probably wouldn't like it.

And then I'd drop them like a hot rock the first opportunity I had to do so.

Look at your filing on the FMSCA site that can cause your rates to be higher.
I had a agent enlighten me this year and my own agent didn't even know the stuff this woman knew. I stayed with my old agent due to all the certifacate he sends out and he matched price. But If I go somewhere else it will probally be to this lady.
