I had my own shirts made, short sleeve & long sleeve with company name above the pocket, and a picture of my rig on the back. All I wear out on the road along with blue jeans and suspenders. Use to wear a belt all the time but after I quit smoking in 05 and gained some weight, I found it hard to tie a rope around the outside of a funnel and make it stay….

I believe it’s called dressing for success. What some are saying they wear for work. Aka proper clothing for the job. I don’t think a suit and tie is required but decent boots clean shirt decent pants. I personally like grey sleeveless shirt that’s clean camo cargo shorts when warm and dickies socks with steel toe timberland black boots. In the winter non ripped blue jeans and a sweatshirt. Always with a hat. Keep the head warm and the mullet hidden. Cause when the mullet comes out #### just got real.
broke down plumber, Still undecided, Lonesome and 3 others Thank this. -
very possible to get sent home if we aren't in company uniform consisting of work pants, safety toe boots and a collared shirt.
i fudge a bit in the cold months with a flannel shirt or jacket. 10 years now, no repercussion. guess they're ok with it.Concorde, broke down plumber, OldeSkool and 1 other person Thank this. -
This seems appropriate to me. When I started with Millis they gave us our pick of 5 shirts and a hat with the option to buy more as desired. People usually recognized me in a positive way when they saw me dressed in those clothes and keeping clean was as important as how you were dressed.
Another way to look at the whole dress for success are people like the tech bros. They've got their own dress code that doesn't include ties.broke down plumber, OldeSkool, hope not dumb twucker and 3 others Thank this. -
You forgot "uphill both ways in the snow.."

My first truck was just as you described lol, but it did have AM/FM.
Pop’s old Freightliner had air assist steering that barely helped from the wear. The 78 W900A had torsion bar suspension, and the red 70 Freightliner Cabover had no heat and hole in the seat you could wad your coat down in…..broke down plumber and Lonesome Thank this. -
Out West, you can dress formal without a suit and tie. A nice pair of leather, or snakeskin cowboy boots, black dress slacks, a western style rhinestone button up long sleeve with a collar, and top it all off with a nice looking cowboy hat.
Looks pretty sharp if done up properly. No black tie needed.hope not dumb twucker Thanks this. -
Sweat Pants became popular in the 80’s. Everyone wanted to look like they just came from the gym. The problem was, they never worked out. Slowly they got fatter and fatter. By the late 90’s they realized that sweats easily grow with you. lol.Toomanybikes, TripleSix, BoostedTeg and 5 others Thank this.
