Ok, that I didn’t know.
But the engine at least is definitely bulldog. There’s no mistaking that sound, at least not my ears.OLDSKOOLERnWV, Rideandrepair and wore out Thank this. -
Long day of just driving, shorts or sweats and sock feet. BUT, if im going into a TS, restaurant or at a shipper/receiver, carharts, boots.
OLDSKOOLERnWV, Rideandrepair and hope not dumb twucker Thank this. -
Every day is the same for me. Pearl snap western shirt or company polo. Fresh jeans. I normally wear New Balance walking shoes, but I also carry work boots. Top it all off with a company ball cap. Look good, be treated well. It’s never failed me.
kwswan, OLDSKOOLERnWV, mustang190 and 4 others Thank this. -
Ah, yes, R-series Macks, especially those with a Maxidyne! Those trucks separated the men from the girls....
Oh, is that how that worked? FWIW, probably the nicest truck I drove was a C-series with an Eaton-Fuller 10sp road-ranger.
So, what exactly were Brockways? A Mack truck without a Mack motor?OLDSKOOLERnWV, 201 and Lonesome Thank this. -
Interesting your the first person to mention PPE, we by law have to wear it with most jobs in Australia which of course includes driving a truck, usually requiring either a yellow or orange shirt with a reflective strip on it and also a reflective strip on part of your trousers too and steel capped boots. While driving in the USA think I must of run out of clean shirts and just happened to have one of my Hi Vis PPE orange shirts put this on and when I stopped to fuel up for the day at the Flying J the stares I got were amazing, not sure if they thought I'd escaped from the local chain gang or what? But needless to say that was the last time I wore that shirt while out in public.hope not dumb twucker, OldeSkool, Diesel Dave and 1 other person Thank this.

Steel plants I’ve been require a hi vis vest so I had shirts made in this color and so far never had any issues.
Lol, yea being orange I’m sure it drew attention for that reason. But… Don’t worry about wearing a hi vis of any color, to many idiots out here can’t see something the size of a semi let alone something the size of a human….
MACK E-6, kwswan, FullMetalJacket and 4 others Thank this. -
I did change up the picture occasionally. When I took this picture I was on I-40 east with Memphis in the rear view. It was wee hours around 2:00 am with Merle on the radio….
MACK E-6, FullMetalJacket, mustang190 and 4 others Thank this. -
Sorry for the delay, no, a Brockway is not a rebadged Mack. You are correct, they never did have Mack components, I believe they had their own cab with a distinctive windshield. I read the Brockway cabover was a Mack F model, but none of the other trucks were. They were bought out by Mack in 1977, and ironically, went out of business shortly after pending a labor dispute.
