I have a question. I have a 359 peterbilt it's an 1984 I had the clutch adjusted about a month ago an yesterday I lost all the clutch, when my friend came out to see what was up for some reason it won't let us adjust it. It's like it's locked up or something

The clutch pedal has to be pushed in or your adjuster will not turn .

    Are you doing this?.

When you say lost all clutch.what do you mean??? Is the pedal just limp, like the linkage broke or something??

I was taught that way as well. I used to have a little cheap plastic fork on a screwdriver handle to stick up between the throwout bearing and the brake to check the distance.

It's like the pedal is all free play.

It could be a linkage problem.
Check to see if the arm on side of trans is actually moving as you push the pedal in and out.
If that checks out then its an internal failure in the clutch. Probley a broken spring jamed not letting the the pressure plate to release.

When we push the pedal in nothing moves down below. So I guess it would be like the linkage is broke. But it's not cause if u slam the pedal down and let it back up then push it again then it feels like u have clutch

Well have a better look at the linkage.
If nothing moves down bellow then something is funky with it.
Peterbuilts have that stupid linkage under the floor boards that tend to give problems with age.
Get under there with a good flash light and have someone move the pedal while you look at everything.

Shouldn't be too hard to diagnose if it truly is just linkage thats the problem

proper way is to measure the gap between the throw out bearing and the clutch break with the free-play removed, should be 1/2 inch. push the clutch in while the clutch is in adjust the clutch release the clutch re-measure the break clearance. then once that is where it needs to be if you don't have around 2 inches of free-play adjust the linkage.

once you have done that then from then on you can normally just adjust to 2 inches of free play and that should maintain your 1/2 inch bearing to break. on my truck i assumed it was adjusted properly previously and just maintained 2 inches of pedal free play. when i actually measured it and properly adjusted it i had about 4 inches of free play till i moved the linkage. witch gave me a improved clutch feel and i don't have to shove the clutch threw the floor for the clutch break anymore.

if you are pushing the clutch and not getting proper movement of the release bearing then you have linkage problems/or hydrolic if a hydrolic clutch

this sounds like a bad master or slave cyl on a hydro clutch

but i a 84 359 would have a linkage setup, probably a broken spring jamming things up.
