On your test, you should be driving something you've at least got a passing familiarity with. Insist on an hour on the 8 speed before you test.

What messed up organization is doing this to you?

I double clutch all the time when I'm empty, particularly in the first 6 gears. It's just smoother and easier on the transmission.

Not to derail the topic, but when Eaton Fuller and all the rest want you to double clutch, it's probably not for nothing. I both double clutch and run the gears, depends on the situation. Either one takes about the same time if I'm trying to rush it. When I run 'em, which is most of the time, it's sheer laziness.
