Question for the experience drivers on the forums here. What are the pros and cons of team driving. I know and understand its going to be a little different per company you work for, but I'm just looking for the general idea of the whole team driving thing, and what people think about it that have experienced it and are currently driving team.

thanks in advance for any help and thoughts.

Usually higher pay if the miles stay high. Not worrying about finding someplace to park after the sun goes down. More drop and hook depending on the company. Two sets of eyes when you need it.

Being in a truck 24/7 with someone else is not easy. Has to be the right person and someone you trust. I like running team and do it with my good friend but I highly doubt I would with anyone else. Most have problems sleeping in a moving truck as well.

Where are all the hot chicks when a feller wants to run team? Now that would be the best of both worlds! Having a woman in the truck gets your needs taken care of, plus your truck stays cleaner! Well, that and a roll of duct tape for her mouth......I dont wanna hear all that dang yaking!

    U4EA Thanks this.

I don't know of any so called "pro's" of team driving but the main "con's" are
Sleeping while truck is rolling down the road. Biggest con someone else is in control of the truck, personally I can't, won't and don't trust anyone with control of my truck but me. But hey that's just the way I am and it's MY life.

PRO's - Company makes a lot of money.

CON's - Sleep in moving truck, putting up with another person, no life, hard to get home time, low cpm since divided by two, Who takes truck home, who sleeps in top bunk when truck is stopped, sometime one person works harder and drives more than the other, arguments over taking preplans, lack of space for your stuff..... Oh and did I mention, putting up with someone else 24/7....

Will never team a second time! Teamed with my brother for a week and a half. We get along just fine, have the same interests and trust each others driving and i can sleep in a moving truck. After that 1.5 weeks together, we didnt talk for a month and both said we would never team again. We both went to our own trucks and would run together for weeks and could still stand to be around each other when we were off duty.
