Hey everyone, I'm new to trucking and I'm trying to figure out why carriers decide to go with or avoid working with a third party dispatcher.
Anything helps, thanks!

Someone going to go out buy the trucks get drivers for them setup insurance, yada yada yada, in short, cover ALL the expenses. Then say oh I can't get my own work so I'll let someone else determine what my revenue will be. WHAT???

Hey guys, I'm trying to figure out if I should go with a dispatcher charging 7%. I'm new to this but it seems like if I can let them focus on the admin stuff and I focus on the driving then I'll be better off. Let me know what has worked for you guys.

Here's some homework for you.

I've heard that I could pretty easily book my own loads but doesn't that just add more stress and work for myself?

What should I be looking for on the Freight Broker Forum?

I definitely see where you're coming from for a decent size operation, but what about an owner operator with a single truck? Does it make more sense for them?Keepforgettingmypassword Thanks this.

Why would the idea be any different?

Less overhead expenses, less diversified income stream (1 truck vs multiple). It could ease the burden of additional work for a one man/woman show. That's the way I see it. Sure if someone hired multiple drivers and had multiple trucks then you could easily have someone booking loads in their downtime, but someone working alone doesn't have that same flexibility in their schedule.
