Protection for yourself in the event of a collision

    I didn't make that stuff up. I've been there twice. Rear ended a car (no charges) and put a car in the ditch (dangerous driving, acquitted at trial). Do as I said.

    I didn't mean to imply your response was not from experience, but the more responses to this thread from those with experience and the hindsight that goes with it does give us all the valuable information we need to have if and when it happens to involve us. This is a case of knowledge is power and more of it is a good thing.

    Yeah I know. But still, without the cameras and a good honest lawyer and the money to pay him, I was in deep trouble.

    Is there some sort of network of attorneys that we as drivers can contact by state, with experience in commercial vehicle collisions?

    There are services that charge you a monthly fee and they find you a lawyer when you need one. I used TVC for a while but they're alot of money for what they do. Start with the family lawyer then use his contacts.
