Well, I'm not a drinker, not a drop, probably partially the problem, coming from the Badger, I've seen the effects of alcohol 1st hand. I'm a big talker, and if push comes to shove, I'll go in for treatment, but it's a line I don't want to cross, and they'll surely remember me. ( see avatar)
In a somewhat related story, a neighbor man who is 80, had trouble with getting up at night to pee. He went in for a procedure where they inject formaldehyde into the tally wacker( GOOD GOD ), and he claims it stopped the nightly treks. I don't know about that one, formaldehyde is a highly toxic substance, and be a nice day in the Badger before they did that to me,,being as negative a person you ever shall meet, I say, they are "experimenting" on this 80 year old guy 1st, I mean, after all, he's 80,,,

Saw Palmetto is a cure, for many men, to keep from having to get up at night to pee. Worked for me. Never have to get up to pee. Take two a day; one morning & one night.

Yeah, that's been around a long time, 3600 mg EACH, times what now, twice, so 7600 mgs, I don't know man, I take 20 and 40 mg BP meds, 7200 sounds like an awful lot. I heard most of that stuff is pure snake oil, and all it does is overtax your system trying to get rid of it. While I DO think there is some pluses to that stuff, considering what our bodies take in with everyday crap, it's asking a lot out of mere , what now, saw palmetto. Studies show, while it did help with some patients, there's not enough evidence to suggest it really does do anything, but the mind is a powerful thing, or at least used to be, and if it helps, by all means, go for it. It's why faith healers are successful,,

Guys who hold their pee ( typically truck drivers) weaken the nerves and thats why at a age they have to get up and pee constantly…over time stretching nerves in the bladder,,the condition can be treated to a point by peeing EVERY 2 hours while you awake or at least lessen the number of times you have to get up.
The pill treatment for this ailment is Tamsulosin 4mg. It works.
Been there done it., i get up maybe once a night,,was getting up 3 or more times a night and no longer take meds..

When I had surgery on my prostate so I could pee right again, they sent samples of the trimmings in to a lab. they found a small amount of cancer. So my urologist did a biopsy where they took 12 samples from my prostate. One of those showed cancer, a very non-aggressive type. Doctor said that the results did not justify surgery or radiation at that time. Did another six months later. Both time I did a PSA blood draw a week before the biopsy. All of that gave them a baseline and now I do a PSA every six months a week before my appointment with my doc. As long as my PSA stays around the same level, no other action is needed. But the fact that I have even that small amount of cancer in me is always there at the back of my mind.

I've been taking that 3600 mg., that I posted, for over 30 years and it worked for me. Took about 2 months for it to fully kick in and solve the problem.
I was pulling reefers at the time, so sleep was critical, when I had some hours available for that. Problem was, I couldn't get proper sleep because I had to get up so many times.
I've had people scoff at me and say, "Aww, that's a placebo and doesn't really work." Well, it worked for me and several other truckers I know. My father-in-law is the same age I am, and it worked for him also. He uses the same that I posted, the 3600mg. Yeah, I send him a years supply once a year.

    Numb and 201 Thank this.

To review, apparently, the guy wasn't sure what they injected, a nurse friend said highly unlikely formaldehyde, but whatever it was practically saw results that very night. Dr. said throw out all your quack supplements. Worldwide, people spend about $177 BILLION on dietary supplements, Americans buying around $50 Billion, that's BILLION, with a B, even though, site after site I visited say there's no real clinical evidence they do anything. Those "Energy" drinks, with like 800% of vitamin B, its your body trying to overcome the shock of that much at once that, is the buzz and apparently, one can do that as much as they want. Hey, you want to pad those companies pockets, by all means, they are building another mansion in the Rockies thanks to folks like you. Sorry, I'm skeptical pharmies do anything at all, much less unaccredited quackery pills. Again, the mind, my late ex MIL lived to be 97, and smoked cigarettes well into her 80s, my sister died of a brain tumor at 41 from doing nothing. Go figure.
What did the native American guy, Jake give Burt Munro in The Worlds fastest Indian movie? Ground up dog balls, and according to Hollywood, it worked.
