PTL and Empire Express no longer training new drivers
PTL and Empire Express have ceased their training programs for new drivers due to noncompliance with training requirements. The U.S. Department of Transportation has removed nearly 3,000 CDL training providers from the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s Training Provider Registry for noncompliance. This action is part of a broader crackdown on illegal and reckless practices in the trucking industry, aiming to ensure that drivers are properly trained and qualified to operate commercial vehicles safely. -
These "training" companies are fastly becoming non existent.

This link keeps re-opening this page. Are we sure this is true? I couldn't find anything on this when I did a search.Chinatown Thanks this.

I found that article on a Bing search.

It mentioned those 2 companies specifically? I see in other articles that they're cracking down on CDL schools. It left me under the impression that thousands of schools were losing their accreditation. To my knowledge, both of those companies don't have CDL schooling. They train drivers after they get their CDL. I know for sure Empire doesn’t have a school in Memphis.

You're right! What will companies do if they can only hire experienced drivers? Drivers have to start somewhere.Trucker61016 and bryan21384 Thank this.

I'm going to send a private message to you about helping someone in Memphis find a driving job.bryan21384 Thanks this.

I would like to see the company schools go away and only accredited schools used to get the CDL and then the company can do the OTR mentor training with no government subsidies.
You want drivers that are decent, take away the incentives to put anybody in a seat.
And if the driver has skin in the game for school, he will take it seriously. JMOTrucker61016 and INRUT Thank this.
