I am a driver with 10+ years of OTR experience without any accidents or tickets. In May of 2003 I was convicted of a class D Felony and ended up serving 3 years in a state prison.Once I was released I started the long road of rebuilding my driving career. After submitting 100's of applications(literally!) I finally got a bite from PTL. I honestly informed the recruiter about my past, as I did do and continue to do with EVERY potential employer, and was told there shouldn't be a problem. I accepted the position and went to Murray, Ky for their orientation. On the 2nd day of orientation I was interviewed about my felony.I answered all their questions truthfully and directly.Again I was assured that there was no problem. At the completion of orientation I was assingned a truck, with trailer, and load.Man I sure was happy!! I was well on my way to rebuilding my career and reputation. The next two weeks I hauled 14 loads without incident.I picked up and delivered every load either on time or early. Most where early! On August 3rd I delivered a load in Calvert City, Ky and was then routed back to Murray,Ky. After I arrived in Murray I was instructed to report to the safety department.Once I arrived there I was informed that my services where no longer needed and that I would be sent home on the next greyhound going my way. When I inquired to as why,all they would tell me was that Ky is a right to work state and they needed no reason.I asked them directly if this had anything to do with my felony. They refused to answer and again quoted to me the Ky Right to Work Act.Well needless to say,my hopes and aspirations had been crushed. So beware out there to all you drivers, especially those with one mistake on their record, don't trust PTL with yours and your familys future. To them we all are just a number and we have no feelings.![]()

U'da done it anyway, but I wish I coulda warned U. In my 15+ years out here thats the most backwards crowd I've dealt with. A few "good" individuals [a couple of "great" ones], but the companies personnel skills lack BADLY. I wish U well.
MicksterD Thanks this.
