started with ptl 03/08/2010. At orientation class there was 35 other drivers ther with me,this was a monday. On wed.another 25 drivers coming thru the system. On friday when i received my truck another 30 drivers starting the system. Why so many new drivers??Okay so 1st week 1200 miles,2nd week 1700miles,3rd week 3200miles,4th week 3100 miles. So miles are getting good after they get feel for me.So far company notthat bad.Oh by the way day#2 of orientation PTL charges drivers $315.00 for a canvas bag with padlock, king pin lock ,jumper cables, ect. All is worth about $75.00.Okay now the fun begins..On 4/10 wife goes to ER. with stroke-like feelins i am in new mexico at this time and know that it would be alittle hard getting me home as i live in Tampa,Florida. So okay ptl starts to route me back to florida, good huh?Well arrive home to be with wife and we find out she has a brain tumor. This is on 4/12.Inform my dispatcher of this .On 4/13 they operate and cannot remove tumor and determind that she has teminal cancer.Inform my dispatcher and before i can even finish talking cuts me off and tells me ptl is picking up my truck(mind you have been home 30 hrs and was out on road for 27days at this point)When i ask why she tells me ptl fired me for truck sitting.WTF???I explain that ptl sent me home so i could decide what to do next.Well so much for companies caringabout there drivers. So in meantime i will be my wifes side24/7 until her last breath.Take care all you drivers and be safe.

Thoughts and prayers for you and your wife. I had a brain tumor removed last October at Moffitt Cancer Center there in Tampa. They have been wonderful from the beginning. And if PTL is that heartless, good riddance. My husband was with McGriff at the time mine was diagnosed and they did everything to get him home when he needed to be. Now he is off the road to take care of me.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your wife. I know at this stressful time the last thing you need is a company to crap all over you. I know this from personal experience with another company I drove for. God, Family, then job. God be with you at this time.

Good luck to you and your wife. I fought my demon cancer in '08 and just had another tumor removed in Feb. It's not fun but tell her to fight and not give up. I have a 23 chapter journal on MY Space you might like to read about my fun summer that I hope will help you to laugh and help you through this time. I'm also available for support and advice that you might not get from the doctors. The screen name is RolloverRiderPGR the same goes for any of you getting on that roller coaster ride of cancer. I do make a great support group for a broken down old truck driver!

Now be sure if they havent gotten the truck yet but make the person who picks it up sign for the truck! Sign for that $315 bag of goodies, sign for the general condition of the truck and I would advise you to TAKE PICTURES or every inch of the truck! Yes they will more than likely hit you for your last paycheck but bottom feeders will put stuff on tha DAC like truck was wrecked or other senseless crapola so CYA with the pictures and sheet detailing that truck was in good condition, the goody bag was in it load locks signed for and if the guy won't sign, call dispatch and tell them that truck isn't going anywhere untill your arse is covered!
