Hello to all drivers
After you completed tarping down your load, and start to put some miles in, and then you noticed from your mirror your tarp is kind of blows up like a ballon.. It looks like you have a oversize load in my opinion.. Will DOT/Sherif pull you over for that... I pulled into the truck stop and threw some more bungees and added two 2" ratchet straps.. Its pretty much secure , before as well. Its a Solar Power Inverter in a wooden box, its pretty high...The heat in Phoenix kicked my butt tarping this load
Safe driving guys
Thanks
Johnny

I have no clue but what I would "think" is that as long as the tarp is inside your rub rails and not flapping in the front/back to back you "should" be fine. I've had a few loads that bulged out the sides a little bit but wasn't to bad so I wasn't to worried about it.

crossing coops can trip over hi. then U have @ fix
-
Some loads are impossible to tarp right. Do your best to tarp it so it wont billoe but if it does, no big deal. just slow way down when you hit the coops so they dont notice it bellowing wider then your rub rail.

i got pulled over by indiana highway patrol 2 a.m. i was driving south on one of them back roads from the shipper into indianapolis. his reason was to simply check my paperwork. he gave me a lvl 3. but i have a feeling it was for flapping tarp. and he wanted to check my load. to which he did.
now i put straps over any area that might balloon out. -
Thanks drivers... That's exactly what I did, put additional straps in the area that was ballooning out.
baha Thanks this. -
MichianaFlat Thanks this.

You did right...
I usually have way too many bungees according to some guys, and the thing will still balloon out. I have no shame in adding 2" or even a couple 4" straps over my tarp to stop it. Not only does it keep me from going insane as I see it in my mirrors constantly, but it also saves my tarps from tears. "flapping" tarps is the #1 reason for a tear (besides not padding it properly)keepontrucking81 and Rugerfan Thank this. -
Not sure what you all are talking about, I don't want to fuel this thread up, I just don't throw tarps!
SHC Thanks this. -
Thanks
