I am new driver starting a new job in which the owner knows he has overweight on the trailer axle. This is a special trailer with a special load and nothing can come off or be moved to make it lighter. Also, the tandems don't slide. It is under the 80,000 total, just over on the trailer. I was told the last driver never stops at the scales and has not been stopped. I do not want to do this and risk fines and messing up my record. What should I do, thanks.. If I was to pull it, the fines would go to me, correct?

Not only the fines, but as I understand it, it will count points against you as well.
My only advice is do not pull it. As for him telling you to not stop at scales, I really find this hard to believe. If you are not just trolling around here, and are asking a serious question, all I can say is to find another employer.Bill104 Thanks this. -
I've been to Robesonia, used to live in Lansdale, and delivered to the big grocery warehouse in Robesonia.
That said, gone are the days where the employer can "cover" the ticket when you get stopped and scaled. It's on YOU with CSA 2010. And you're also the one who will sit at the scale all day wheile the powers that be decide what to do with you and your load. -
this is a serious question. I can't say what the load is, but it has equipment on it that can not be moved. When the trailer was built they just could not get the weight lower. I'm told it is a few hundred pounds over on the trailer only. Not only that, but I was also told the anti-lock brakes don't work either.

most of the time, being less than 500 over on a set but still under the 80,000 they wont bother you at all.

True, at a "few hundred" lbs, I might not worry as much, but I WOULD scale it, and there's a scale at that mini truckstop/store by the Dodge dealer and grocery warehouse.

Or did you misunderstand what was said. There are areas where you may get by with "going around" the scales. If you don't get caught doing it.
But since you appear to be brand new both with the company, and with driving in general, all I can say is "protect your CDL."Lokix Thanks this. -
If it is built that way and is one piece why not just buy an overweight permit and not even worry about it?

pa allows 3% over......34,000 + 3% = 35,020
-
3%? Really? What truckstop lawyer told you that? PA allows 34, 34 and 12, unless you're permitted otherwise. I got a ticket for 600 over on my trailer tandems in PA.... don't believe everything you hear, and telling the cop that a truckstop weight guru excused you on the offense won't get you out of a ticket.
