    Explains a few things. Now I understand why my Roper gear pump handled thick products.

    I used to load an oil additive heated in a rail car through a 5 micron filter bank and stainless steel braided hoses.

    The [major oil company] lube rack deliveries they pumped off part and then added 'cut back' and after a ride around the yard pumped that off in a different place.

    The smaller synthetic oil producer had us pump off into a storage tank.

    The Roper [gear] Vrs. Blackmere [vein] debate has waged almost as long Cummins Vrs. Detroit debate.
