Now that one I understand. whew. It's been a while. I usually either hit the Whites at the 205 or pushed on to Strasburg up north.

 

I don't think violence is the answer either. That said, there's plenty of people in the world with short fuses. So if you're going to do something that might potentially be a source of ignition for someone, and you're not sure of the mental state of a person whom your actions might affect, then perhaps you shouldn't roll the dice and find out the hard way.

 

The FedEx driver told the police; "I could'a kicked his arse, but decided to take the high road & use calming techniques on the aggressor."

 

Oh great. Well, I hope he's not teaching hostage negotiation technique to police forces because he sucks at it and should just stick with whatever physical force he can bring to the situation.

I wonder why he didn't just move but rather decided to stand and try and justify his actions, and further delay the other guy? WTF?

 

Deescalating is well and good PROVIDED you have still a path to cause Reason to enter the potential aggressor.

There is one sentance that I use on bad guys in my area :We have nothing for you. NOTHING." while presenting a side to him in Body position and hand on the Colt under the garments ready to go.

Bad guy instantly has a choice and usually makes the right one. There is no comparison.

Now if the bad guy advances... well.. I may or may not have the freedom to talk about that problem for a while.

 

Maybe I missed it but I didn't read which driver did the stabbing. If it was a guy parked at the fuel pump, maybe he stabbed the guy who called him out for it?

I tell you something else, remember the CB radio, before there was a internet? How a problem on the east coast gets passed off across the nation in a couple hours embellished and story told to excessive limits of imagination way beyond actual facts by the time westcoasters pick up on it.
