Pulled into Loves in Blacksburg S C yesterday morning. couple of pumps were vacant but all the pumps had trucks pulled up out of the pumps, so I went in behind a U S Foods truck. He was already out of his truck and gone inside. I pumped almost 200 gallons, cleaned my windshield and bumped my tires. Well the U S Foods truck still sitting in front of me. I go inside, get my receipt and coffee in my mug, come back out, yeah you guessed it, the U S Foods truck still there in front of me. I thought about several things, but then I just put it in reverse and backed out, realizing how big of a sob some drivers are.

What really sucks is you can't always back up and go your merry way. Some trucks stops are a trap where once you committed to the fuel island you're only moving forward.

This is especially true at some at some of the older and smaller Pilot/Flying J locations the company "acquired".

Loves in Max Meadows, Va is a tough one to back out. I try to avoid it as much as I can. You know, if I have any idea that I got a "pain" or if I am a little hungry and need to get a biscuit, I usually do it before I ever fuel. Once I fuel and match the time to my log, I am gone.

I try not to get behind any flatbed, they take forever to fuel and leave.

But today I backed out after fueling up, there was an old beat up tractor and a long ago retired Werner trailer parked in front of the pump.

Actually forward is oversimplication, some stops omit the room needed to do that classic where is my next spot turning circle... Ya know, I pull out of fuel line scan all the rows and now Im doing a circle to get set up to try that one spot way back there while 5 more pass me headed there.

In the Frederick 76 there was a wide gravel spot for parking big enough for 5 trucks. I was number one, two through 4 followed me in and set up and we all backed in there at the same time perfect close order drill. Then the last truck bleated on the radio, what about me?

in that case, anything and everything could be a source of ignition for somebody who's had a crappy day/life or is just effed up.....

i'm finding it far more soothing to my own mental health to not consort with other truckers much at all....only if absolutely necessary.

Have you guys noticed the digital timers showing how long a driver has been in the fuel island at some of the Pilot/Flying J's ?

In California on I5 there was a driver that must have been taking his 10 hour break in one .
