It's clear you don't care but there are plenty who will pay a premium for the truck because they care if you were to ever decide to sell it. Or maybe the megas will eventually get their speed limiter law passed and they keep the same truck age requirements as they have for ELDs. Maybe you don't care about that either but I assure you there's a market for people who do and will pay a premium for it.

A lot of the trucks in Alberta are used HARD, real hard, heavy loads, back roads etc. I'd want to make sure it was a highway truck, and really get someone to have a real hard look at it if I couldn't get there and do it my self. Huge risk.

Even with OH paperwork I would verify through CAT. People can make fake paperwork. Would anyone like to see my three masters degrees? (Kidding)

Just an update on my venture for newer truck. My love for acquiring a w-9 has diminished since seeing a Western Star.
Would like your thoughts on a 2016 Western Star DD16. Seems reasonable cost and specked for flatbed transport.

Idle time in an emission engine is important, they dont like to idle. I personally wouldnt touch an emission truck, I've had, that's enough. You have LOADS of gliders down south to pick from, make sure it has a FACTORY rebuilt engine, or at least it's done by a good shop. I want to get a coronado glider but the few that pop up here in canada are stupid priced, and now with the market they have actually gone ridicules. So my columbia glider will do. Cheapest truck on the road to maintain, parts and service available everywhere, it's just a money maker.

Yea I heard lots of stories about the emission trucks. This one is deleted , not sure what that all means but no DEF required!

I definitely wouldn't touch that truck. It can never go back to a dealer, and if you get an emission check they can take the plates and it's off the road until you RESTORE emissions to factory. It would have to be real cheap to take that gamble, or I'd have to be within a couple hours of home so I could always tow it to a shop I trust will look the other way.
And it would still have to be real cheap.
Still better off to get a glider or an older pre emission truck.

You were going to come here for a truck. This one has 600k MILES, it's a glider, to me its 15k too much but you have the us $ so it's much better priced.
No emissions, no bs. Have it taken to detroit and a dyno, blowby test done and an oil sample.
