Purchased Uniden Pro520XL and Cobra 19 DXIV

    Purchased Uniden Pro520XL and Cobra 19DXIV, got to decided which one to keep and which to give away;

    Also have Little Wil Antenna

    First CB Radio ever bought so don't want to shell out too much;

    Which radio is better out of the box and which one is better after 'peak and tuned'?

    Anybody recommend a place to peak and tune these two cb radios in Austin area? How much?

    Also, anyone know if I can replace microphones with either models?

    Personally i would install the uniden and give away the cobra alone with the lil will....

    Yes you can change mic on both. just have to know your pin count when ordering a mic.

    I agree, the 520 is IMO a better radio.

    I also agree get rid of that Lil Wil as well as the Cobra....you won't be impressed with it....trust me I had both at one time and learned the hard way.....instead use that Uniden and get you either a Wilson 1000 or if you don't mind a 9 ft antenna, a 102 whip with the barrel spring....you can talk quite a ways on just that 102 whip and the Uniden.

    And whichever radio you choose, an external speaker is a MUST. The sound quality on either radio is not very good.
