Look like a good list to me.. Yes edge protectors for straps and chains are different.. Chain ones are metal, strap ones are plastic thats the only difference they do the same thing..u should be good to go, u will pick up some stuff along the way when u find it handy ..
Doughboy18 and singlescrewshaker Thank this. -
Yeah,Looks good there OP.
Go with the 21 inch bungees instead- 15's are good for sides only- 21's will get you wrapped up all over-
And If your gonna be running broker only (Which you will, especially in these tough times..Many Shippers wont even look at you without experience and capacity) Don't overdo it! Most Broker Loads are Leftover contract lanes or Spot freight nobody wants......
Good Luck passing out your Cards- Its what I did when I first started.....stwik, D.Tibbitt, frito bandito and 1 other person Thank this. -
Good broom to sweep off the deck......

V-boards, plastic or home built.
Do your winches slide? Personally I like winches, lots of them, but I like them straight across from each other, either that or offset in about 2 ft intervals. If I have them straight across, I like straps with NO hooks so I can tighten from both sides. If off set you have to have hooks, but can still tighten most freight from both sides.
Just personal choice, but I would want 1/2 of those chains 5/16 instead of 3/8 and I would also want some 10 ft chains too.
A smoke tarp, is a must as far as I am concerned too.
You will want a few longer bungees too.
I also like some 4 ft drop tarps too with 3 sets of d rings. I always wanted to have a set made both 4 and 8 ft drops but 3 pieces to be able to cover 56 feet of load, without them being too heavy, and you can never have too many d rings.
An old junk tarp to roll out under your tarp comes in very handy on some loads too.
I cut strap protectors out of scrap carpet, had plastic angle protecters when there was a defined edge, and also some plastic ball corner tarp protectors.
I have also grabbed a pack or three of diapers when I was needing some bad.
No way would I be caught without a few snap binders, myself, you will find you will want some at least.
You will want a few 2 in straps and ratchets, for sure.
I liked having a few pieces of junk fire hose cut in short lengths to run a chain through at times.
All that, you will always come up with something you don't have.
Oh yea, in addition to a screw gun I had a circle saw, and a hand saw too.D.Tibbitt, booley, Doughboy18 and 1 other person Thank this. -
I noticed you stated about winches without hooks I too go winch to winch people look at me like I’m crazy I don’t even try to explain if the can’t figure it out
-
Just starting out I would just stick with the 30 foot 4" straps, I wouldnt worry about getting the 20 feet...
Get a couple 4" ratchet straps and a couple 2" ratchet straps... -
2 chains with hooks 1/2 with of a pallet about 8 3 link chains with hooks on both ends find an old bias ply 10x20 tire cut in half across center then cut side wall out will make 4 coil cuffs some 20 inch chains and if you have chain pop ups 8 peak link with hook
