There is to many lazy ##### hiding behind a curtain trailer. Maybe u should pull a van trailer if u cant justify spending 15 minutes throwing a strap to make it safe for the family next to you on the road..

so it’s fine for a van to not have straps but not a curtain van? If a van driver flips over what’s going to stop the seed from coming out of the trailer? That thin side wall and roof. Please.
How I haul seed is plenty safe been doing for years and I have never lost a bag.

and no I would not pull a van. That’s what really lazy people pull.

No. It's not fine for either. But we already know van haulers don't secure their freight. Open deck holds itself to a higher standard than that. What he's saying, is if you aren't holding yourself to that standard, you might as well pull a van.

As far as the product goes, I put wooden V-boards along the edges, and then large plastic edge protection on top of the V-boards where my straps are going to go. Spreads out the pressure. Maybe hauling light bags of seed isn't really a problem in this particular case. But people are dropping coils in these trailers with a couple straps, and then hiding their laziness no different than a dry van hauler. It's BS. We're better than that.

Vans are hauling fork lifts, other items that roll. They get away it untill they load 48, in a frameless. .

Do you have any pictures of how to secure a load of spuds? In a van.

I agree if I wreck my truck because I screwed up then I will have a big problem. Wouldn’t matter if I’m strapped or not.

Looks good. Some V-boards could really complete the deal. Problem is your trailer really isn't set up for this kind of strapping. It's working for you, and I hope it continues to work. But I'd lose the curtainside for the ability to strap my freight in a heartbeat.

And yeah, I've thought about the "wreck" stuff in the past. There's been times where I wasn't completely satisfied with my securement, but I knew the only way I'd really have a problem is if I flat out got in a wreck. And at that point, I've got bigger problems anyway. At least as long as my now unsecured freight doesn't continue off the trailer and hurt or kill someone. But in your case of hauling seeds, I don't see that as really being a problem. Not excusing unsecured freight at all, but I understand "case by case basis" stuff.
