Anyone who is interested, we are putting together a book on long haul truckers. We’d like to bring the story of the long haul trucker to middle America so that folks might understand the ups and downs, get a peek into why you all do what you do and how you do it. Life on the road.

If you're interested in participating in this project, it would involve interviews via e-mail and the completion of a short questionnaire -- a series of 20 questions--and 2 professional photos highlighting driver and his/her home on wheels.

Think of it like a high art coffee table book.

    Let me know!

I would be happy to contribute to your efforts, but I have to be honest, I dont have alot of good things to say about the state of our industry today. Feel free to contact me anytime.

Like truckerdave, I don't have a whole lot of good to say but I'll be happy to help you out. I don't live far from Atlanta if you want to meet just let me know. I've been driving for over 20yrs and have seen a lot of changes through out the years.

    Hi vaquero and truckerdave
Thanks so much for responding. I'm hearing that it's really tough out there right now...even more important to share with America what life is really like on the road - the ups and downs. We're highlighting the driver (photo), picture of rig, and photos of the sleeper to show that it really is home away from home. Non-drivers don't have any insight into that life, where you sleep, what's in the truck, how much you can do with that space, etc. Then there's a short interview where we will ask you to fill in the blanks. It's a good way to share "real" stories and maybe even dispel some of the myths and preconceptions people have about drivers.

    .
How about a book that brings trucking to "America" ?

Middle America knows all about trucking, since that is where most of us are from.

You'll be hard pressed to find an "upper" American that even understands how to open the door of a truck.

But then again. This is a lost cause.....what CEO is going to even glance at a book about trucking.
