Look at it from the other side of the fence...They have to "put up with" drivers all day long and I have seen many more jerk off drivers than shippers/receivers over the years!

There is not much you can really do besides let it roll off your shoulders. If you let them get under your skin and put you in a bad mood, then they have won.

Keep you chin up and smile. It either pisses them off that you're happy, or they will just think that you are a bit insane. :biggrin_255: They might hurry you out of there in that case.

I would say the driver was left out of the whole set up. He had no clue what was in for him. Dispatcher, probably dropped the ball. Yep, I would probably be pissed also, but would be next to you guys explaining , I had no idea they never called. Its always been my best interest to talk to the receivers with respect for each other. Here we are receivers, truck drivers, standing in the parking lot, trying to figure out a way to make this work. I always talk to them like we are all on the same team. Usually works out better this way.

Man if that ain't the truth--nothing I like better than being in line behind a driver without a clue--giving everybody a hard time--doesn't matter how much you smile--talk nice and soft etc....makes it hard on everyone--THink about it!

Maybe I'm crazy, but I actually enjoy dealing with these unhappy people. I have learned to take a step back and realize just how unhappy their lives must be, then it reminds me just how great my life is. I make more money than them, have a better job than they do, have a great wife and dog at home who love me more than I could have ever thought possible, and am doing this all with an end goal that will provide me and my wife with a life most people could only dream of. How could I possibly be upset about anything?

As far as the cars in my way, I don't really stress that either. I'm not bothered if it takes me half a day to get backed up to the dock safely, and am not scared to GOAL as many times as needed. I also find that keeping a couple empty soda cans in my truck, so that I can crush them and illustrate to anyone who does not want to move their vehicle just what will happen to it when hit by my truck. I also tend to talk a good game about how I am only concerned about scratching my truck, and could really not care less about what it does to their vehicle. Seems to put a little fear into them and makes things happen.

Uhhhh....Yeah, You have to do some work.

Or would you rather just do "Drop'n Hooks" and waddle around the truckstop in your filthy sweats and flip flops with your belly hangin' to your knees looking for all the world like a 500 pound homeless moron because you're too lazy to get off your ### and do some work?

We didn't start out "strong" we worked at it!

    "About twenty minutes."
"What!?" "I dont have twenty f****** minutes!" Driver replied just before he went kicking and screaming out of the door.

Only the strong?..lol...I am an average size guy I guess..No real big musle tone...Ive seen guys alot smaller than me snap binders and throw tarps fairly easy. I have seen two women chaining coils in the 2 1/2 years Ive pulled flatbed. One was a big ol girl, the other was a smaller frame 5'5 130lbs maybe. Neither had any problem. I guess it just comes down to determintation, if you want to do it, than you do whatever it takes.
