firstly, it is a 24 cents difference, on a 200gal fillup, thats $48
do that three times per week, thats about $150 PER WEEK
just because you chose to drive ten miles down the road and go to QT instead of Pilot/TA/Petro/Flying J
QT (QuickTrip) puts Loves, Pilot to shame

I use to like fueling at the Quik Trip; cheap fuel, and I could stock the truck with drinks, snacks, and cig's for half the cost........

There's usually some good looking women who work there in the front part of the store.

I won't fill up at random places anymore. I had some bad diesel once and trust me ull want to pull your hair out if you get a batch of bad stuff.

i had some questionable fuel at a pilot about a month ago
for about two days, my truck had hard starting problems, after i fueled again, it went away
you can get bad fuel from anywhere -
If less than $1,000 a year can make the difference between making a profit and going under it isn't much of a business .

$150/week is a lot more than $1,000

Some trucks are a lot pickier about what they eat than others. I've seen cat-powered company trucks fuel up at the same pump I did...immediately before and after....and both of them will have fuel related issues, and my Mack doesn't skip a beat.
I screwed up this week. I was on a rare road trip running overnight on a route I don't run very often, so I'm not too familiar with where all of the fuel stops are....and I ended up running my tanks a little drier than I normally would. I had been trying to find an open fuel stop for 60-80 miles and was pretty much running on fumes by the time I reached a Pilot. Paid $0.20/gallon more there than I would have anywhere else...83 gallons...which took an extra $16.60 out of my pocket in just that one fill-up. Granted, $0.20/gallon is cheaper than running out and having the fuel delivered on the side of the road...but still...it is ridiculous that they charge that much more than anyone else.
If I overpaid like that EVERY time I bought fuel, it'd be over $5000/year. That's a new set of tires, all mounted & balanced with new valve stems. -
The big chains have the high price for the big companys. The chain tells the company we will give you $.20 off a gallon. The company says wow what a discount,we will get all our fuel from you.the small truckstop allready has their price $.20 cheaper than the big chain.the non big company driver who goes to the big chain is a fool to pay $.20 more a gallon.

People used to laugh at me for dropping a trailer and bob tailing to a local gas station that was close until they seen I saved over 14 thousand dollars a year doing it.
I have a Sams Club card, that over priced pogie bait in truck stops are marked way up, my membership pays for itself with oil, anti freeze purchases as well.
Rotella is only 12.81 a gallon at my club, saves 7 dollars plus from the truck stop jugs.dog-c Thanks this.
