Jury found Qualcomm infringed on Broadcom's patents.
A ruling imposed on Qualcomm states that they must immediately stop selling 3G WCDMA cellular chips.

Don't know how this will affect trucking companies and what they use to communicate with their drivers, but if it ends up being a money issue than I am sure it will cause some changes in the future.

In the US, ATT and Cingular use the GSM Technology
and ALL OTHER Cellular companies use the CDMA Technology (Chips made by Qualcom)
In other countries, GSM is the technology used. -
Canada is still predominantly CDMA. GSM was supposed to take over years ago but it hasn't really caught on that well. It's predominant in Europe for the most part.
