Be very cautious when choosing this company to drive for. They are the biggest tanker company in the US. Very successful & traded on the New York Stock Exchange. Down side is that most ALL of their Terminals are affiliates that are independently owned and operate under QC jurisdiction. Most of these operations are trucking companies that failed to operate successfully on their own and are very poorly operated. They ignore most safety issues because Quality is very relaxed on enforcement and they don't give a crap about the safety of their drivers. They will attempt to give drivers sub-standard equipment and you will be required to fill out inspection reports on every trailer you pickup. You may miss a scratch or a dent and you will be charged with the damage whether you did it or not. Some of the terminals are Teamster. Be even more cautious of these because 90 percent of the new employees will work their 60 day probationary period and then be terminated so the terminal will not have to pay your pension & benefit package as promised. What they don't tell you in orientation is that you have absolutely 0 recourse if you are released after you finish your 60 day probation period. All the Terminal has to say is, "You failed your 60 days". It does not matter if you were on time for every pickup & delivery and never had a spill or were never written up for any infraction with no accidents. QC will offer you a transfer to one of their affiliates in Texas, most likely Houston because they have trouble retaining drivers there. You will average about $400 a week there.

The old circle C ain't what it used to be..............

I never knew what QC used to be but I can tell you that now it is a Missouri Boat Ride complete with a big bowell movement.

I worked for the QC as a company driver on the west coast out of Vancouver, WA for a bit. They are QC affiliate owned by Novirtis. They were really good. But I have heard it all depends on the affiliate.
RickG Thanks this. -
Did you run for the terminal in Channelview??? Cletex is a good place to run with. I was leased to QC and operated out of SouthPoint, OH termianl and the guys there were great. The owner of the company was NOT tho, and they ran about 10 terminals. After leaving them (I did a dedicated run so I never once went to my terminal) I found out that the owner sold out to another affilate owner and things are MUCH MUCH better now. i still keep in contact with a few guys there and they love it now. SO I know exactly what you mean about choosing terminals carefully...... at least you got some experience in, and hopefully you've moved on to better things.

Corporate safety THINKS they are strict on safety but they are clueless . They got a poor safety rating back in 2010 partly because of ignorance of the safety department . The trucks have e-logs . Most trucks aren't governed but they have a corporate speed limit of 65 m.p.h. . Every time you exceed 65 the computer notifies Tampa of a violation .
I will be retiring early in a few months mostly due to corporate BS
