First I went to Laredo TX for orientation to lease a truck with certain. These guys was awesome and the hotel was nice and very friendly people. They gave you breakfast lunch and dinner for free it was amazing. Then they send me up to waxahachie TX to quality to get a truck and everything changed. You have to fight for a hotel room they don't want to pay for and once you get your truck they won't pay for one say just sleep in your truck, the hotel only provides breakfast and the company provides nothing. They try to push the maxforce prostars on everyone with a list with just them. Luanne the lady in charge is the biggest #### you can imagine and thinks she is hott stuff but has the worst case of Meth mouth I've ever seen. They tell me you have to have the full maintenance with your truck, then I get a truck and need to have the a/c fixed and they say no cause I'm not under that, I was like wtf you just told me I was, they look at the computer and say oh yeah but you got an older truck so your not. Long story short the people up here are huge ###holes and don't care about you or if you get a decent truck. If you come up here expect to be here 2 weeks before a good truck gets on the list and bring enough money for you to eat cause they won't provide you anything. I'll never come back here and I'm gonna call whoever is in charge of celadon and get that ##### luanne fired.

Ok, so you start your own business (Leasing) and get upset with company that doesn't want to pay your business expenses (hotel) then it's their fault you don't read your contract so you don't know what extras expenses you may have (maintenance issues). Got it!
Guys leasing is not being a company driver, get that in your heads before you start. You may then be one of the few that actually complete a lease.

ZVar is right! You are not an employee. I recommend you should drive for a company for a year as a company driver before enteing a business arrngement with them. That is the best way to find out if they are honest. To start in business without even lunch money---------
Going in to business ( lease purchase ) is a gamble, even leasing to an honest company, many things beyond your control can cause your default. An accident, a refrigerated load gets spoiled and it is determined to be your fault/negligence and financial responsibility. Poor choices, personal debt and business cost over whelming your revenue. You might be successful and you might not. I completed two lease purchases in my last 6 years trucking. I did not turn down loads or tell the dispatcher to kiss my ###. IMHO it's better to haul the crap load and keep moving. Stay focused on the prize---clear title in your name!

Your intentions are good, and advice outstanding, but you're dealing with people that just don't get it...and most likely never will.
I've talked until I was blue in the face since Feb. 11, 2008 on L/P...the results are the same; nothing.
I've stopped trying when it comes to this subject. Not saying you or anyone else should...just saying you'll find it goes in one ear and out the other.

Good luck to any and all who try a Lease/Purchase---the failure rate FAR, FAR outnumbers the success rate.

I agree completely. And to be an inexperienced driver, just got your license and think you can be a successful lease operator, the odds are against you. Because you don't know enough about the trucking industry in the first place.

But I want to be a busines owner not just a truck driver. Why won't a company take care of all my needs, make all my decisions, provide me with a shiny great truck, and make me rich?

They can make so much more money leasing prostar maxxforce than selling them outright. The OP is already ahead of the game by NOT leasing one of those pieces of ####. If you do lease a maxxforce, prepare to spend all your money you make on maintenance. And it's not just the maxxforce that's a piece of crap, other components like the ac, both cab and bunk frequently don't work. I could go on and on, but you get the picture. Oh, btw, if you do need to take it to international for service, prepare to be out for 2-3 weeks. Bottom line, play it smart like this guy and stay far far away from maxxforce trucks
