question about 12V power inverters & laptops

Ima n o/o, i'd rather just get a penny off on diesel, although, its not like i wouldn't spend enough at the truck stops to use um up anyway

 

i lied too you i looked to see the brand witch is power drive, and its 300 not 400 but still will power my laptop and my small tv at the same time

 

Just throwing my 2 cents in.

You can run phones and small stuff on a plug in inverters with no problems. One person on here gave you some good advise. When it comes to High end stuff like lap tops and flat screen tv's you really need to get a hard wired, Pure sine wave inverter. Someone else said that they run theirs off the small plug in type and if your not pulling to much juice it will work for awhile, but I'm willing to bet that their laptop is hot enough to cook on if they run it long enough. It's just not good on the high end stuff. I purchased a pure sine wave inverter and hard wired it in my truck using a 200 amp circuit breaker instead of fuses. It works the same except I don't have to keep buying fuses. It's not that I have to keep buying them because they are going out, but sometimes I get a little carried away and try to run the PS3, Flat screen, Refrig, Laptop and make a pot of coffee at the same time. Even with a 2500 watt inverter that doesn't work. LOL. Anyway, Good luck, I hope that helps some. You can google, pure sine wave inverters and then you can get an idea of what you want to spend on one. BTW, Ive had mine now for about 2 years and it's a beast.
