Yes you can put all zeros, I have done this every time I've done a 34 re-start, IMO, it's less confusing, writing hours in your recap and still showing 70 hours available will just give DOT reason to look further into your logs, again this is just my opinion

Granted you still have to have them in your possession for the previous 8 days but that's just regulations, lol. -
It really isn't covered in the regs on how to complete the recap portion, that is a company thing, and mainly just to remind the driver on how many hours he/she has to work with. The DOT guy isn't going to even notice the recap, especially if it is correct or not. He/she will be looking at each individual log and verifying the 11-14-70 and looking for that silly 30 minute break before the 8 hour limit! -
