a truck THAT size, you would never feel a "nudge".......

i suspect the the cop behind you "should have" seen something. you need to have his statement.

i don't know if she is lying or not. i say give your statement to the company, and the company lawyer, and the police, when asked, let them determine the out come, you nor i or anyone else here are accident investigator. it 'could be" an insurance scam, or "it could be" for real. besides, you do mention, Minimal damage:............meaning THERE IS damage............

most likely though, the company will pay her off, and you very well may be charged. either side-swipe, hit and run, leaving the scene of an accident, whatever...........so let the investigation take place, go from the results.

No evidence on the unit ? You sure? Smells fishy ........ but like he said....tell your carrier your side and talk to no one else ( cept cop ) . Carrier is accustomed to scams ( if one ) and will handle it. Get police report when ready. The cops opinion will hang u or set u free.

yeah the leadman at the shop spent 10 mins looking at the truck then left then a few more then said there was a scuff on the tire but it couldn't be fresh and looked about curb height her car was in way too good of shape for it being hit at that speed plus like i said only on the rim nothing on the side of the fenders how could that be its physically impossible to just have a scuff and no indents

and when you say charged do u mean lose my license jail time probation?

why physically impssible to scuff and not leave dents?

charged means probably 10 years in jail or so....

because the scuff was on the hubcap and the wheels sit inside the fender there was no damage on the fender just the hubcap i would think i would dent bend or tear off the fender since the fender is further out then the wheel

the scuff mark could be the mark you made when you hit her. as the vehicles are in motion, you would be rubbing against her car. try not to be the accident investigator, you DO NOT have that experience, the cops DO, and so does the insurance adjuster.

"charged" can mean anything from a ticket, fines, on file accident report with the DMV, accident report with your company DAC report. not usually jail time, as you didn't kill anyone...........yet..........

and yes, your license can be suspended if found this was a "hit and run" accident. again, you have to wait for the outcome of the investigation.

a 10 to 15 ton vehicle will never feel a "nudge" done to a tiny car............

this also goes to ALWAYS paying attention to your surroundings.

if you goofed up and had the accident, accept the facts.

if you did NOT have an accident, chalk it up to being MORE AWARE of your surroundings bob tailing or with a trailer.

wait for the results of the investigation, then get back to us.

She wants a newer Honda Civic! :biggrin_2559: What was she doing parked in the driveway to a yard??

That close you should get out of the seat and look out the window at minimum.
The damage is done and nothing you can do now. Guilty or not. Your safety dept will make the final determination.
