What % of brokered loads do truckers get ripped off and not paid on?...What % of those you got ripped off on did you never collect on?...
And do you use contracts or just phone calls to consumate a deal with a broker?

I got ripped off twice in 6 1/2 years, so well under .1%. 99% of brokers and shippers have a setup contract to sign, and you get a load confirmation on each load unless the loads are spelled out in the original contract (rare). If it's not in writing, it doesn't exist. Never roll the truck without a confirmation.
As far as collecting, the bankruptcy court on one sent me a check last year. I got paid $300 on a $2200 freight bill. I've yet to hear from the second one.walstib Thanks this. -
Thank you for the input! Anyone else?!?!

Never not been paid either on my own or with prior company. I have been screwed out of detention a few times and have had to do everything but threaten to send Guido to visit but I have been paid.

I have to contact him through Lenny Big Toes who is a guy I met at Rubes Truck Stop in Jersey many years ago. Capice?

I have one on my wall now it's a carrier not a broker my buddy called me and ask if I could help them out that he does alote for this guy and always gets his money well that was in July for $4,200 I paid a lawyer to send a letter and $250 later got me nowhere so I just took it to my CPA to see if I could right it off on taxes I just don't think I will ever see a dime
-
How would this be deductable? You're already deducting the expenses associated in moving the load.
-
Could you post the carrier so maybe others don't fall victim to them?...Did you have a contract?...If so, file in small claims court for the max your state allows, you don't need an attorney...Once you get the judgement, send it to their bond holder and they should pay you...SHC Thanks this.
