Question about CDL class A permit

The local Technical College requires you to have your Class A CDL permit before attending, but looking at the state of Tennessee's DMV website it says that just a knowledge test is required to get a Class A permit, does that sound correct?

The test consist of 3 sections of study:

1. General Knowledge
2. Combination Vehicles
3. Air Brakes

Get a CDL manual from your local DMV. In addition, use the crist.com website to help you with your studies.
